Sight defines the area of the game board a unit can see and the area the unit will give to save as observations.
The sight zone depends on the current weather.
All units but artilleries can only attack cells they currently see.
But be careful, within the sight area, some enemy units may not been seen because of their camouflage level.
Scouts have the "observe" action which increase their sight by 30 points, for two hours as they don't move.
In this case :
- To see some units positionned 3 cells far in vertical and 2 cells far in horizontal
I need 37 sight points;
- If the weather is sunny (let's suppose it has a sight bonus equal to 6 points; refer to
weather), I need 31 sight points to see those units;
- But if I only have 31 of sight and the sunny weather makes my sight to 37, I would not see camoufled units, either if they only have 1 camouflage point (quick calcul: 31+6-1=36, less than 37,
37 beeing equivalent to a non camoufled unit on this cell).
Let's make it more difficult:
- If my unit is a moto with 40 sight points, and if the sunny weather brings my sight to 45,
I would not see enemy units camoufled units 3 horizontal and 3 vertical cells far,
either if they only have 3 camouflage points (40+5-3=42, less than 43, 43 beeing equivalent to a non camoufled unit standing on this cell);
- If my unit is a moto with 40 sight points, and if the rainy weather reduce my sight to 37,
I would not see an enemy unit standing 3 horizontal and 2 vertical cells far, either if it only has one point of
camouflage (40-3-1=36 is less than 37, 37 beeing the equivalent to a non camoufled unit on this cell);
- If my unit is a moto with 40 sight points, and if the rainy weather reduce my sight
to 37, and if I do an "observe" action, I would see an enemy unit standing 3 horizontal and 2 vertical cells far, either if this one has
29 camouflage points (40-3+30-29=38 which is less than 37, 37 beeing the equivalent to a non camoufled unit on this cell).
