- A cell can be fortified only by an engineer.
- A fortification can be built only if there is no ennemy on the cell.
- A fortified and "hold" cell prevents the possibility to the ennemy fighting hand to hand and protects against attacks and bombing.
- Fortifications are built/repaired/improved by the engineers.
- Three different levels of protection express the solidity of the fortification (level 1, 2 and 3 displayed on the map).
- Each time an engineer builds/repairs/improves a fortification, it reaches a higher level.
- A fortification is the propertie of nobody.
- To enter in a fortification, it must be not "hold" by an ennemy.
- Only some types of units can hold a fortification (see the Units Data table).
- Fortifications are partly destructed at each attack or bombing of the cell.
- When you want to engage a deserter localised in a fortified cell, the fortification is not damaged anymore.
- You can fortify a bridge but this not protects it.
If it is destroyed, all the units on it drown. On the other hand, excepted glory and an advantage on the ennemy, it does not bring any XP to the fighter
